The Bill (Reg. No.1340), submitted by H.Moskal, People´s Deputy of Ukraine, introduces amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine that define responsibility for violation of rules of organization and holding of entertaining events, and turnover of production of sexual and erotic nature, envisaged by the Law "On Protection of Public Morality".
The Bill includes the concepts "an entertaining event and production created with children´s participation that are harmful to public morality". The author of the Bill believes that adoption of the Bill will secure more effective legal mechanism of protection of children´s rights from sexual exploitation, as well as extend the concept "child pornography" included in the regulations of international conventions ratified by Ukraine. H.Moskal stated: "The Bill envisages responsibility for organization of production turnover with the use of information and telecommunication technologies".
H.Moskal stated that deficiency of effective legislation hampers fighting sexual exploitation of children and institution of criminal proceedings against the persons at fault.
The Committee members upheld introduction of relevant supplements and amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
